Private jet to Costa Rica
With a Pacific coastline on one side and the Caribbean Sea on the other, Costa Rica is famous for its rainforest lodges, volcano views, surf towns, and beach resorts spread across the country.
Getting to Costa Rica on a commercial schedule usually means a connection, a long layover, or a drive from an airport on the wrong side of the country. A private jet to Costa Rica takes you nonstop from your home airport to the one closest to your stay, on a schedule you set. Landing at the right airport makes a real difference to your first day.
WrenJet Private Air Charter vets all aircraft operators and matches the right aircraft to your trip, so you can plan with confidence from the first quote to the final landing

Private jet airports in Costa Rica
Costa Rica has four international airports. Two of them handle most private jet arrivals, and choosing the right one can save hours of driving on the ground.
Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR)
Located about 11 kilometers from Liberia in Guanacaste Province, LIR is also known as Guanacaste Airport. Its 9,022-foot runway handles aircraft of every size.
LIR is the closest international airport to the Papagayo Peninsula, Playa Conchal, Tamarindo, and much of the northern Pacific coast, making it the natural choice for a beach-focused trip.
Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO)
SJO, near San José, is Costa Rica's main international gateway. In 2020 it opened the country's first general aviation terminal, dedicated to private flights.
It is the most convenient arrival point for the Central Valley, Arenal, and the central Pacific coast.
Tobías Bolaños International Airport (SYQ)

Limón International Airport (LIO)
Limón serves Costa Rica's Caribbean coast, including Puerto Viejo and Cahuita. It mainly handles domestic flights, so many travelers headed to the Caribbean side arrive at SJO first.
Choosing the best airport for your Costa Rica private jet flight
Start with where you are staying. Guanacaste resorts point to LIR, while the Central Valley, Arenal, and onward domestic legs point to SJO.
Our team checks the airport against your aircraft, arrival time, and ground transfer, so you land as close to your stay as possible.

Private jet charter pricing to Costa Rica
Every Costa Rica charter is priced for the specific trip, so there is no single fixed rate. Here is what shapes your quote and how we build it.
-
The biggest factors are your departure city, total flight time, and aircraft category. One-way versus round-trip travel, how long you stay, and whether the aircraft waits for you or repositions between legs also matter. Holiday weeks and the dry season can affect availability.

Aircraft options for private flights to Costa Rica
The right aircraft depends on how far you are flying, how many people are traveling, how much luggage you are bringing, and where you plan to land. Routes to Costa Rica cross open water, so range and comfort over a two- to six-hour flight both matter.
For private jet Costa Rica trips, most travelers choose between three jet categories, with turboprops filling in for domestic legs.
Midsize jets
Midsize jets are a comfortable choice from South Florida, Texas, and Atlanta, with space for a small group and their luggage.
Super midsize jets
Super-midsize jets can typically fly nonstop from the Northeast, Toronto, or Chicago, with more room to stretch out on a flight of about five hours. Popular models include the Challenger 300 series, Gulfstream 200 series, and the Cessna Citation X, Sovereign, and Latitude.

A super-midsize jet cabin offers a spacious, inviting setting for your flight to Costa Rica, with generous leather seating, refined finishes and room to relax or work. Club-style seating creates a comfortable space for conversation, while a well-appointed galley and enclosed lavatory add convenience on longer journeys.
Heavy jets
Heavy jets and ultra long range jets suit larger groups, longer routes from the West Coast, and travelers who want the most space onboard. A range of Bombardier Challenger and Global, Gulfstream IV/ 450, 500, and 600 series as well as Falcon 900, 2000, and 7X are popular choices.

Turboprops for domestic connections
Turboprops are well suited to domestic legs within Costa Rica, including shorter runways closer to remote lodges. The Cessna 208 Caravan is well suited to many of Costa Rica’s remote airports and airstrips.
